When you typically tell a lie you are more likely to do it again. It's literally always the case with these kinds of things. If you can do it once you already get more comfortable with it so you do it again. Also when you tell a lie you usually have to cover up another lie. It's really just a waste of time and effort. It's easier to tell the truth like every time it just has less of an effect rather than saying something so someone feels a certain way. It's hard to keep up with lies too. Sometimes you say it and you might even forget the story yourself because it didn't happen. So overall it's always best to tell the truth. If being honest is hard for someone then they should probably really just start off with basic small truths and it gets easier and easier from there.
