1. Telling the truth lets everyone know what really happened. There's less chance of misunderstanding, confusion, or conflict.
2. Telling the truth protects innocent people from being blamed or punished.
3. Telling the truth allows everyone to learn from what happened.
4. You usually get into less trouble for telling the truth other than for lying (and geting caught).
5.Other people trust you more when you tell the truth.
6. You dont have to tell (and remember) more lies to keep your story straight.
7. You gain a reputation for being truthful- a trait most people value.
8. Telling the truth helps you to feel secure and peaceful inside.
When you tell the truth it saves you so much time and emotional labor. It does so much good for you but when you're scared of confrontation you lie sometimes and it's not fair to others. People deserve to be told the truth all the time and when you don't provide that for them it's a huge disrespect. Telling lies is very time consuming and you spend most of your day thinking about them and trying to keep up with them when you couldve just said the truth in the beginning. It's hard to tell the truth sometimes but the more you do it the more it becomes habit. I think being honest is one of the best traits because its rare.

Student Success Statement 4.13.18
" I have been asked what I mean by word of honor. I will tell you: Place me behind prison walls- walls of stone ever so high, ever so thick, reaching ever so far into the ground- there is a possibility that in some way or another I might be able to escape; but stand me on the floor and draw a chalk line around me and have me give my word of honor never to cross it. Can I get out of that circle? No, never! I'd die first." -Karl G. Maeser
I think it is extremely important to stay to your truth. IF you know you're not going to do something it's better to not say it. There really isn't a point to doing so. All it does is destroy a relationship whom you promised something to. It is completely avoidable. There is no point to it. It's being scared of saying the truth and being honest with what you can do. I've had many times were I had a chance to cheat on a test because the teacher needed to go get something or he was busy on the phone and the girl next to me is odne and loks like she has 100% on her test. I think it's bad to cheat and if I didn't pass the test it's because I didn't understand the material exactly. I always turn in my work once I'm supposed to even if I have a chance to copy someone or finish it quickly I just turn it in. I think of it as kind of self discipline.

Student Success Statement 2.7.18
"Right is right only when entire." -Victor Hugo
Sometimes we leave out the fact that we did something bad along with good. Sometimes you slip up on purpose and that completely changes the deed you did. When it comes to truth and telling the truth you need to know that you can't leave things out. The truth is the bitter fact of something you did. So when you mislead someone with a story or something you say you're not being truthful at all. In fact you're lying about it all. You're making it seem something that it is not. If I said I studied hard for a test but I leave out the fact that I got multiple answers from the class prior to mine then I studied for nothing and my work and effort meant nothing. It's important to remain doing good and not slip up because something is easier to say or do.
