I think when you choose the right all the time everything you experience is short term. Someone not appreciating it, something happens at your expense, someone takes it the wrong way, etc. These are all negative consequences to doing right sometimes but it's okay because it is the thought that counts. You should always be doing right even if it doesn't benefit you. Or maybe when a teacher or a principal is watching you you feel more compelled to do the right thing but really? You should be doing it all the time. Sometimes people are kind for getting something out of it. What I notice a lot is when people offer their food or snacks and later on at some point they are very prominent in what they did when really you shouldn't expect so much in return. A thank you should honestly suffice and that is it. I just really dopn't like the mentality of I do this for you so now I'm asking you to do this for me. It's almost like if everything you do should be counted for and it really shouldn't. It kind of reminds me of like points and then you redeem the points haha.
