The Harmful Effects of Smoking

Smoking can harm and damage your lungs and cause lung disease. Nicotine makes your blood vessels thin and your heart has to work harder to pump blood. Tar sticks to the sides of your lungs which can cause lung cancer. You are also inhaling pure carcinogens.

Smoking causes 80% of all deaths from the chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
More than 16 million Americans are living with a disease caused by smoking.
Smokers die 10 years earlier than nonsmokers.

23% of high school students are smokers.

We can promote nonsmoking by creating a big no smoking environment and having strong leadership.

I promise to never use any tobacco products in my life.
